The goal of this project was to design an electric kettle that would fit with products currently on the market. A existing company and retail price was chosen based on a target user. The brand chosen was Stagg which currently produces kettles that have a minimalist design and matte black finish.
The final design is sleek modern and has an entirely matte black finish. The kettle is made of an insulated stainless steel body which sits on top of a matching base. The ergonomic handle matches the slope of the body and the cylindrical forms throughout the design all share the same diameter. Located in the bottom is a heating element used to keep the water at your desired temperature. The fully scale model is made from pink foam, styrene sheets, and 3D printed PLA parts.
